Australian rock legend Daryl Braithwaite and The Valley’s anthem ‘The Horses’ returns to The Valley on Ladbrokes Cox Plate to take the stage ahead of the feature race at 4.30pm.

Hugh Sheridan will do the honours of signing the Australian National Anthem while Cox Plate winning jockey Malcolm Johnston and trainer Lee Freedman will deliver the W.S. Cox Plate.

The Carlton Draught Clydesdales will also be popular off the track as will The Piazza which will house a large array of Food Trucks to ensure nobody is leaving hungry. Russell Robertson and Phil Ceberano will also take residence with live entertainment all afternoon long to make it a one stop destination.

The 97th W.S. Cox Plate is the most anticipated edition of the race since 1982 when Kingston Town became the first horse to win three Weight-for-Age Championships. 35 years on and the stage is set for Chris Waller’s mare to emulate his feet and race into LEGENDARY status.

All eyes will be on the mare as racegoers wait in anticipation for their very own ‘I was there’ moment. Her challengers come from far and wide, including horses who have travelled from overseas while three-year-old Royal Symphony is stepping up to the challenge.

Be here to witness what is billed as ‘the best two minutes in sport.’
